Vector art files can be made to any size without distorting the print. Image files must be made to size and be high enough resolution to print well. 

Image files are .JPEG, .Tif, .PNG or .BMP

Vector files are .AI, .EPS

.PDF can be Image or Vector

Make sure to convert all text to curves.
